Talking With Collegiate Runner, Will Cheety


Will is an all around great runner. As a junior at Rowan University, the Gloucester Country native has been running all year round since his junior year of highschool and enjoys competing at the collegiate level. As a graduate of both Gateway Regional High school and Rowan College at Gloucester County, or better know as RCGC, Will has a remarkable work ethic. Being one of two distance runners on his highschool track team, Will used to triple at track meets, running the 800, the 1600 and the 3200. During his time at RCGC, Will and the rest of his relay team second in 4×800 National Track and Field Championship two years in a row, and went on to place 3 in the 5,000 meters in 2014 for the NJCAA He was also named team captain for both teams at RCGC.

But Will works just as hard off the track as he does on it.  He has received the Academic All NJCAA Award and is apart of the Phi Theta Kappa, an academic honors society that recognizes students for their achievements with the classroom.

He is now running cross country at Rowan University and plans to run both winter an spring track. Here he is discussing some of the aspects of being a collegiate runner.
